AGARTALA, Sep 3 (TIWN): No relief from rains for next two-three days as per weather dept has predicted. One night's rain has led Agartala people desheltered and 3 flood refugee camps have been opened. Baldakhal, Pratapgarh, Srilanka Bosti areas are the highest sufferers.
The tale of good rains in the Northeastern states of the country does not seem to end here. The region has been witnessing on and off spells since the arrival of Monsoon and after a brief lull period, the northeastern states of the country became rainy once again.
It is due to the axis of Monsoon trough that the Northeastern states of the country recorded moderate showers at many places, particularly, the western parts of Assam witnessed good showers and Tripura is already flooding.
A Western Disturbance can be seen over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas. Along with this, the western arm of axis of Monsoon trough is running close to the foothills of the Himalayas. Thus, light to moderate rains are expected over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. One or two places may receive heavy rains. Meanwhile, patchy rains are expected over plains of North India including Delhi whereas West Rajasthan will remain dry.
