AGARTALA, Aug 23 (TIWN): Boro leader Promode Boro has addressed the IPFT rally at khumlwng.

Addressing the IPFTs, Promode Boro said that their demands are since 50 years at Assam for a separate state for Boros.

Demand for separate Boroland at Assam and separate Tipraland in Tripura have however damaging the peace in Northeast leading even life-losses at Assam. One Amal Sarkar, Tripura's son was killed as SSB leader recently allegedly by Bodos.

IPFT was to conduct the rally on Agust-23 at Agartala, but following IPFT's 10 day long blockade at National Highway and last year 2016's clashes among the Tribal and Bengalis have led the administration not to permit for IPFT's rally on 2017's same day.

IPFT Chief NC Debbarma said, "As we have been not permitted to hold the rally at Agartala, so we have done it in Khumlwng but there is lack of interest among the participants".
