KAMALPUR, August 3 (TIWN): After being refused extortion money, at least three persons were injured when SPO attacked them for not getting money. The incident occurred at a liquor shop in a village of Halahali. The accused SPO - Prabodh Deb was handed over to the police.
The trio injured were identified as Sunil Das (34), Ram Narayan Namashudra (45)
According to sources, Prabodh went to a liquor shop owned by Sushma Malakar at Halahali Bazaar for collecting extortion. But Sushma refused to meet his demand that led to a feud between them.
Few other liquor consumers present over there also spoke on behalf of Sushma. As the scuffle raised its peak, Prabodh at his rage attacked one Sunil and Ram Narayan present over there with a bamboo stick. Both of them sustained severe injuries and were taken to BSM Hospital in Kamalpur.
Considering the condition of Sunil to be critical, the attending doctors referred Sunil to GBP Hospital. As a consequence, the locals beat Prabodh and handed him to the police personnel of local police station.
