AGARTALA, July 19 (TIWN): Tripura opposition BJP has asked the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to step down as he has totally failed to control the law and order situation in his state.
BJP leader Sunil Deodhar said, "I have already demanded his resignation. The moment he called Rajnath Ji and told him to handle the situation, I said clearly that Rajnath Singh can not intervene in the law and order of the state unless and until there is presidential rule. So, if CM can not handle the situation he should resign and asked for the Presidential rule in Tripura".
"This is nothing but a joint activity by CPI-M & IPFT. As it has been known that IPFT took no permission for the blockade, then where was Tripura Govt's intelligence ? They are total failure in intelligence to stop the illegal blockade", Deodhar added.
Moreover, BJP raised slogan, 'Home Minister Hay Hay, Manik Sarkar Hay Hay' demanding his resignation on Tuesday asking him to 'Step Down'.
