Agartala, August 2 (TIWN): AMC holds evacuation of hawkers in the heart of Agartala city today. Around 50 hawkers have been evacuated from Kaman Chowhumani to Post Office Chowhumani.” Enforcement mission still continues in other part’s, added Executive Engineer of Central Zone Arun Roy.

Speaking to TIWN Shri Roy told, the hawkers had been given notice many times but they turned a deaf ear to it. They are even updated through Newspapers advertisement and public address systems. Still they disobey the notice which prompted AMC to take appropriate steps.

Today morning AMC suddenly started  evacuation of hawkers from Kaman Chowhumani to Post Office Chowhumani. This made the hawkers spell bound. They found no time to package their belongings. The hawkers further complained that their materials are being looted by local miscreants.  In order to tackle the situation,  State Police and TSR are put to service into  city. In the coming days mission will continue, said Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dr Prafullajit Sinha
