AGARTALA, May 30 (TIWN): As scheduled, the MGNREGA workers continues 'no-work' until their demands are 100 % fulfilled.
Since Monday, the agitators have begun 'no-work-schedule' but till no response from the Govt side has been given causing a huge hampering of official works.
MGNREGA employees said that amidst various protests, rallies with 5 points of demands, the workers are deprived of their basic rights in state.
At Agartala press club the employees under "Tripura REGA Karmachari Samannoy Samiti" said, "It's observed that the Tripura REGA Karmachari Samannay Samiti is struggling for years together to achieve 5 points of demands which related to the interest of the members of samiti including the toiling masses of the State of Tripura".
On May-25 with 7 points of demands, MGNREGA workers staged demonstration at Astabol Stadium, infront of North Gate.
However, a 21 % increment has been announced with the salary of the Tripura govt employees under MGNREGA after following continuous protest led by the employees. Moreover yearly increment has been hiked with 3 %. EPF has gone up to 13 %, announced Naresh Jamatia with addition of 20 days leave with full day salary, but the employees said they their rights to be fulfilled 100 %.
Thus, the members of the Samiti has kicked of a continuous work stop for full day for indefinite days from May-29.
