AGARTALA, May 22 (TIWN): A 3 day long Assembly Session from Tuesday to Thursday will be started in the Assembly. This is a special Assembly Session to pass GST.

A three-day session of the Tripura Assembly would begin from May 23 to pass the State Goods and Services Tax Bill,” Deputy Speaker Pabitra Kar said on the background of the GST.

Tripura Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha said that passing of the State GST Bill was mandatory for rollout of the new indirect tax regime.

The Tripura government held a meeting on GST with all legislators on May 12 and a workshop for the media would be held in Agartala on May 20.
