Agartala, May 6 (TIWN) : The Department of Chemical and Polymer Engineering of Tripura University organized a special 2 hr invited lecture on the topic “Introduction To Industrial Rubber For General Purposes And Special Purposes” on Friday ( May 5, 2017) Prof. Dipak Khastgir ( former Head of the department , Rubber Technology Centre at IIT Kharagpur) discussed in details on the topic.

Porf  Khastgir maintained that rubber produced in Tripura could also be used for large scale industrial purposes and students of the rubber technology  could very well make a career in industrial sector utilising their technical expertise.

This lecture was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. A.K.Ghosh and the participants included students/research scholars and faculties from B.Voc (Rubber Technology) and Material Science and Engineering etc. to mention a few.

The programme was held in the Seminar Hall-I of the Academic Building 11.

The department plans to organize many such events in future and expects more people in the fields of chemical/polymer/rubber technology and allied to join us and work collectively to uplift and enhance engineering and technology in this region.(END)
