AGARTALA, July 20 (TIWN): With the initiative of Agartala Municipal Corporation’s ward no: 18, a voluntary blood donation camp was conducted in Kamini Kumar Memorial School, outskirts of Agartala, here today. The camp was inaugurated by the Minister for Power, Transport and Panchayat Department- Manik Dey.

While addressing the camp, Dey said that voluntary blood donation movement now turned into a carnival in Tripura, which is an outcome of developed social thoughts of Tripura people. Besides, Dey urged young people to generously donate blood to save lives. The minister also appreciated this immense effort of AMC.

A vast number of blood donor including youths and women have donated blood during the camp. It may be noted here, Tripura secured top position for voluntary blood donation camp in the country.

The Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation- Dr Prafullajit Sinha including many others remained present in the camp.
