AGARTALA, Feb 28 (TIWN): Irritated by opposition's inquiry about audit report CM Manik Sarkar said due to various problems audits remain incomplete.
However, Sarkar further said that the audit of a year has to be finished by the same year and it can not be delayed.
Oppositions raised questions as how many audits were submitted in 2014-15 from State Govt Directorate? , whether any special audit was done or not? How much imbalance sheet was found?
Following the question, Assembly remained heated for few next few times.
It's worthy to mention here that To avoid more embarrassments in MGNREGA Tripura RD Dept. is now busy with the tally of NREGA reports. After High Court Order against MGNREGA scams held in Tripura, the state govt has finally begun the process to conduct audit in all 58 blocks on the execution of the rural job scheme. In 20116, month of November High Court expressed extreme displeasure in the incomplete MGNREGA works.
On that time Congress spokesman and eminent physician Ashok Sinha, lawyer Ashish Nandi and Trinamool Congress leader Arun Chandra Bhowmik, sought a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in Tripura.
High Court Chief Justice T. Vaiphei and Justice Subhashish Talapatra asked the government to conduct audit in 58 blocks.
However, High Court also rejected the demand for a CBI probe, and directly asked the government to conduct an audit in all 58 blocks of the state vis-a-vis MGNREGA scheme to ensure ‘transparency’.
