AGARTALA, Dec 27 (TIWN): Tripura CPI-M observed 72th Janashiksha Diwas (Literacy Day) on Tuesday.
CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar hoisted party flag at Melarmath Office.
Apart from Agartala, CPI-M in other subdivisions also observed the day.
Bijan Dhar said, “To evict feudalism in 1945 across Tripura hills 11 tribal youths began a literacy movement in an attempt to wipe out all monarchy, illiteracy and superstitions, which was successfully done by figures as Dasarath Deb”.
