KAMALPUR, Dec 24 (TIWN): CPI-M has retained its domination in the recent bye-poll in the sub-division. Among 4 seats CPI-M has grabbed 3 and BJP has grabbed 1.
Recently, bye-election has been conducted for four seats two each from Durgachowmuhani & Salema blocks. Among those seats the most hyped has been the seat of Durgachowmuhani Panchayat Samiti which has been won by 350 votes by CPI-M last time.
This time BJP has put a tough fight to confident CPIM. CPI-M candidate Sumati Namadas has won this time by mere difference of 64 votes. She has got 988 votes. Her nearest contestent Reba Namasudra from BJP has got 924 votes. Congress and TMC has grabbed mere 34 & 56 votes. In Durgachowmuhani Block, another seat has been at Debichara panchayat. This seat has been grabbed by CPIM by 40 votes.
In Salema block, BJP has won the seat of Shantirbazar panchayat by 13 votes. At Singinala panchayat, CPIM has won by 58 votes.
