AGARTALA, Dec 19 (TIWN): Atleast 1000 KG Ganja was recovered from Melaghar on Sunday from a vehicle. The vehicle has been seized and kept at Melagharh police staion.
The bundles of Ganja recovery has created much tension here in Tripura. But surprisingly, that incident didn’t bring any affect on Ganja / Drug business as these items are openly sold at various shops in town areas.
As per police, around 92 Kilos Ganjas were recovered from Melaghar under Sepahijala Dist. As per the Sonamura Police station 92 kgs marijuana was recovered, which was ready for smuggling. Talking to Sonamura police said that continuous raids are being held against Ganja cultivation and production. As a result worth of more than 1 Crores of Ganja was recovered.
SDPO Sonamura Babul Das, OC Melaghar sized marijuana from a Truck bearing No. PB 31 F-6865.Truck Driver Surendra Singh & his assistant was also arrested and taken to Police custody.
