KAMALPUR, Dec 18 (TIWN): Aged parents often hope of human treatment from the children. The basic facilities of living like food, clothing, medical treatment and good behaviour are the demands of the parents.
But, in today’s society, the self-centred children often deny their parents and some even go to the extent of beating them. And when such ill-treated parents not get proper attention, even from the administration, then it turns more grave. Such an incident has happened here in the sub-division at Noagaon panchayat recently.
An aged mother Anjali Malakar (72) has been ill-treated by her teacher son Swapan Malakar and his wife, who is an elected member of Noagaon panchayat for last four to five years. Recently, the ill-treatment has turned into beating. And on 10th December, Anjali could not control her wrath against humiliation and torture from her own son and beloved daughter-in-law when they beat her mercilessly. Then Anjali has lodged a complaint with Kamalpur police station. But, police has remained in happy slumber declaring Swapan absconding.
It might be mentioned here that, Swapan Malakar is the eldest son of deceased Birendra Malakar and Anjali Malakar. After the untimely death of Birendra, Anjali struggled hard and worked as domestic labourer to bring up Swapan and his brother. Then his brother died in a very early age. Swapan got engaged with CPI-M and became the elected member of the panchayat. Then around 2010, he got the job under SSA and married. Later his wife became the member of Panchayat. Then Anjali’s days of misery started. Money of her old age pension, MGNREGA wages etc were often snatched by Swapan and his wife which ultimately led to the incident of 10th December.
Now, the role and intention of police against this inhuman offence came under question.
