AGARTALA, Dec 16 (TIWN): ‘Pustak-Mela’, like every year has begun at Agartala with the completion of its 12 years.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar inaugurated the book-fair at Umakanta Academy field. ICA Minister Bhanulal Saha was also present on that occasion.
This fair is held every year with the initiatives of the publishers of Tripura.
This is the one and only book fair organized by publishers in whole India. Following the international rules, this year the fair will continue for 12 days long (From 16th Dec. to 28th Dec.)
Addressing the gathering ICA Minister Bhnaulal Saha said, “This fair is an example of book reading craze of a state, as in this fair many people came from various corners of the state”.
“The left front govt always supports such initiatives as it’s helpful to build a healthy society”, said Saha.
A famous writer Jitendrajit Sinha said on that occasion, “E-book should not be considered as a threat to printed books; but ther guardians, teachers would motivate the children for reading habit in both E-books as well as printed books”.
CM Manik Sarkar said, “The new generation’s writer should be guided by the elder, experienced writers and the experienced generation would help them to become a bias-less writer and to bring revolution in the country”.
“Tripura writers should represent the state symbolically”, said Sarkar.
