AGARTALA, Dec 16 (TIWN): Agartala NIT has introduced all cashless transaction as a part of Modi Govt’s move for cashless economy. This is the first degree college to take such a modern technological step, TIWN reported.
NIT Prof. Gopal Mugeraya said that recently the Prime Minister of India has madean appeal to the people of the country to make cashless transaction particularly in the wake of shortage of liquidity in the market. As a modest step towards realization of the pious dream,of creation of a cashless society the NIT Agartala has taken all measures of initiatives to contribute to the ‘Cashless-Economy-Movement’.
Presently at NIT Agartala campus, there are70 shops, 4 canteens, and a good number of green grocers shops. Besides, the shop-keepers and auto rickshaws have been approached for to make transactions by Unified Payment Interference (UPI).
All students and guardian also called upon to join in this facility.
Prof. Gopal Mugeraya said that shortly the whole NIT will be cash-free and all transactions will be done via cards soon, easing the way of cash-hurdles.
