UDAIPUR,Oct 19 (TIWN): As Diwali is approaching nearer preparations at Matabari is on the peak. Police administration has spread geared up in the build up to Diwali festival. Diwali Festival at Matabari is the biggest festival of the North-Eastern region, literally termed as Kumbha of the North-East.
This year at least 5 lakh devotees are expected to gather in the two day long fair to be held in the Tripura Sundari temple complex at Udaipur. If rail service commences upto Udaipur before Diwali crowd gathering is expected to be much higher .
On Tuesday ADG S S Chaturvedi and DIG Southern Range Uttam Majumder visited Matabari to have a close look on the preparations. They were accompanied by SP Gomati S Saraswati. On Wednesday SP Gomati S Saraswati held meetings with Addl SP Gomati, SDPOs of Amarpur, Udaipur and Karbook and all OCs under Gomati district. The meeting continued till 7.30pm.
Meanwhile two fissures have been found in the walls of Tripura Sunadri Temple. At present repairing is being done in the temple to paint it new ahead of Diwali. During this time workers found two fissures in the wall. It is learnt that after Diwali opions of the experts and Archaeological Survey of India will be sought to repair the fissures.
