AGARTALA, Oct 11 (TIWN): Goddess of Autum, who is popularly known as Goddess of Autumn for Bengali people was given traditional goodbye on Saturday with Bisarjan of Goddess's idol.
Thousands of women took part in Sindur Khela which took place on the last day of Basanti puja.
According to the Hindu Mythology, Goddess Durga emerged from the collective energy of all Gods as an embodiment of Shakti or divine feminine power, to destroy demon Mahishasura; who was blessed to not be defeated by any man or god.
The name Durga in Sanskrit means ‘the impenetrable’; she exists in a state of self-sufficiency and in ultimate power. This powerful form of Mother Goddess is highly revered in Tripura which is why her return is celebrated with much grandeur and ceremonies.
However, on people gave farewell to Devi Durga for another year with tears in eyes.
