Agartala, May 28: Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today visited the site of new Raj Bhavan, which is under construction at Capital Complex. After the visit, CM directed to the officials to complete the construction of new Raj Bhavan by January 26, next year.
The Chief Minister today held a meeting at Capital Complex with the Minister for Power Works’ Department- Badal Chowdhury, Chief Secretary- SK Panda, Chief Engineer of PWD- Sunil Bhowmik, Managing Director and other officials of Macintosh Barn Company (construction) and head officials of PWD. During the meeting CM directed them to finish the construction by January 26, next year. He also commanded to maintain the quality of construction.
Later, the chief minister expressed his satisfaction about the progress of the construction. During the meeting, on behalf of the PWD officials assured that entire construction except painting of the building would be finished by the December, this year.
Noticeable, the construction of the new Rajbhavan building is in progress by the Macintosh Barn Company. This building would be established by the allocated fund of Thirteenth Finance Commission. An amount of Rs 30 crores has been estimated to complete the construction. As of now Rs 14.30 crores has been allocated by Thirteenth Finance Commission. A total of Rs14 crore already spent till date.
