AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Atleast 1000 Elders are living in Tripura who are 100 above in age.

However, Tripura has 2.5 lakhs of senior citizens, said an official on Saturday.

Expressing worried about the helpless parents in Tripura officials said that the ‘makers of the society’ are now in trouble, as children are not taking care of their parents.

However, there are many laws, by which the Elders can utilize to get their rights back & then the children have to look after them.

The number of murders of parents by own children are also new emerging issues in Tripura.

However, most interestingly Tripura as per 2011 census has around 1000 Elders in state.
