KAMALPUR, Sep 11 (TIWN): The corpse of the drowned student Rahul ultimately got rescued late in last afternoon round 5-30 pm. The rescued body was immediately shifted to BSM Hospital.
The doctors declared him brought dead. Significantly, the rescue succeeded after the local fishermen and youths joined hands with the rescue parties. The fishermen found the corpse from an underwater gorge of the river.
The entire proceedings disclosed the reality of so-called disaster management training and the plight of the governmental departments like Fire Service once again.
In the day-long search, Fire Service, disaster management troops and the 3rd Battalion TSR were employed step by step. During all the time, the local youths and fishermen joined hands spontaneously.
But, the search parties without basic equipments like water glass, net etc. could do nothing but to dive in the water and to come out again for hours together.
The family members of Rahul and local people got irritated by that mockery of rescue. Ultimately, two fishermen dived into an underwater gorge and found the body of Rahul.
Now, it became clear that, the so-called periodic trainings and mock drills resulted nothing to combat disaster. Only, the money of tax payers got spending in unreasonable way. And in every case of any disaster, the concerned officials remained to be mere spectators.
