AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): Tripura Pump Operator Union placed 4 charter points of demand to the Finance Secretary of Tripura.

According to them, the pump workers they have to work atleast 7 to 8 hours. But they are paid very less.

According the state govt. decision, from 1998 year the part time pump operator section was started from Panchayat Raj . Since 1988 to 1993 year developmental committee had recruited workers who had no permission of the Dept.

But those pump workers out of notice by the dept. in the year 2007-08 were recruited on regular basis.

So demands were raised to regularize the other workers. Along with this, they had more demands including salary hike.
