AGARTALA, July 9 (TIWN): Raising voice against the delay in the arrest of rape accused Panna Ahmed TMC leaders on Saturday staged protest rally in Agartala city demanding immediate arrest the accessed.
TMC leaders once against hoisted protest rally against the delay in arresting rape accused Panna Ahmed even after 3 weeks of the incident.
The rally began from Trinamool Bhawan which walked across several parts of the streets and later staged protest in the city demanding solution to the existing problems of the state.
The TMC leaders stated that why no action is taken against the rape accused Panna Ahmed.
It is to be mentioned here that even after passage of three weeks police is yet reluctant to nab rape accused Panna Ahmed. On the other hand, allegedly mafias under the instructions of the big heads of Melarmath threatened the middle aged women and her family for withdrawing the complaint against the Ex SDM of Sonamura who is accused of raping the women in his residence.
According to the sources, the mafias threatened the women to withdraw her complain or else she and her entire family will be killed.
It is to be mentioned here that the rape victim is now moving with the death fear of her life and her family.
A senior Tripura Civil Service officer, Panna Ahmed, was accused of raping a woman in his house in the South Ramnagar area of the city. He has been suspended from government service.
The woman, a mother of two, had gone to Ahmed's house to rent a room when he allegedly locked her up and raped her. Ahmed, who is the joint director of sports and youth affairs in the state, threatened her with dire consequences if she made her ordeal public.
However, demanding arrest of the accused the TMC leaders staged protest and stated that if their demands are not fulfilled they will go for massive protest in the coming days.
