KAMALPUR, July 9 (TIWN): The long tenure of unrestrained power turned different departments and the employees obstinate enough.
Moreover, the employees got shamelessly busy in the practices of bribery. And in this practise, the office complex of the Dhalai DM turned a popular name. Especially the offices of the Motor Vehicle Inspector and the Superintendent of Taxes turned into the dens of the bribery.
In both the offices, the commoners could do no work on their own. For every work, the help of the brokers remained a must. If a person wanted to do the works on his own, then the officials made them to seek the help of the brokers.
It got revealed that, the officials and other employees happily got their share from the brokers. The situation turned so grave that, any format could not be availed from those offices without under table transactions. No person could get their work done without paying huge bribes.
Now, the departmental officers often claimed to make the sections free from the practice of bribery. But, nothing could be done in this regard yet. And as a result, the commoners had to suffer in this era of so-called ‘golden regime’.
