AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN): On the death anniversary of Arun Deb, a former CPI-M leader Deputy Speaker Pabitra Kar paid tribute to him on Friday.
In his honour a blood donation camp was also organized where Pabitra Kar delivered speech. The programme was organized by SFI.
Along with the entire state, 25th martyr day of former SFI state committee member Arun Deb was observed at Agartala.
While protesting the vote rigging as a CPI (M) polling agent in a polling centre at Simna in Zilla Parishad election in the year 1990, by that time SFI state committee member allegedly became martyr by a section of the then Congress leaders in the broad day light. Yet we failed to wipe away the tears of our martyr leader’s mother”.
He was born on July 08, 1962 and died on the same date in the year 1990. About 350 Left Front workers and supporters were murdered during the period including Arun Deb, claimed SFI leaders of the state. Again Left Front came into power in 1993.
