LOWARPOA / CHURAIBARI, June 27 (TIWN): Finally Tripura and Assam Govt. officials woke up from slumber as the NH-44 on Lowarpoa part has been inspected by DC Karimganj Manoj Kumar Deka and DSP Ranadip Sharma on Monday.
Following the ongoing crisis of fuel and food due to National Highway’s pathetic condition the Govt. officials from both the states are taking initiatives and visiting with the Engineers at various spots from Tripura-Assam NH-44.
Tripura Transport Minister asked the Assam Govt. to take joint initiative to renovate NH-44.
Sources said that Assam Govt. said that, “the Kathaltali area(under Dharmanagar) which falls inland Tripura would be recovered by Tripura Govt. so that the vehicle movement hurries up, as for national Highway always Assam Govt. is blamed, whereas Tripura’s many broken parts near Churaibari leads slow movement of vehicles.
However, a ray of hope is there as Assam and Tripura Govt. officials have jointly visited Lowarpoa side. Now it is to be seen how much progress comes over NH-44 after the visit.
Reportedly Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal has directed to complete the work soon.
