AGARTALA, June 11 (TIWN): Along with the nation, Lok Adalat was held at the premises of the Tripura High court on Saturday as per regulations from the NALSA.
As per the calendar of NALSA, from February, 2015 onwards, Monthly National Lok Adalats are being organized on Second Saturday of every month. Important feature of this Monthly National Lok Adalat is that every month different cases are being put up.
The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has been constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to provide free Legal Services to the weaker sections of the society and to organize Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes.
In every State, State Legal Services Authority has been constituted to give effect to the policies and directions of the NALSA and to give free legal services to the people and conduct Lok Adalats in the State.
In every District, District Legal Services Authority has been constituted to implement Legal Services Programmes in the District. The District Legal Services Authority is situated in the District Courts Complex in every District and chaired by the District Judge of the respective district.
However, causes related to banks, criminal cases were put up in the court. The lok Adalat held on Saturday was administered by Justice Subhasis Talapatra, Justice SC Das and other dignitaries also remain present.
