KAMALPUR, June 6 (TIWN): Once again the Salema Agriculture Superintendent office came under allegation of cheating the farmers and also of misappropriating the funds. The incident occurred at Methirmia village under this sub-division.
It got revealed that, in this Boro season, the department selected Methirmia village for their project implementation. In the project 70 kani of land from 37 beneficiaries had to be selected for Boro paddy cultivation. The department set it all in the documents. But the reality remained something quite different.
According to the allegation of the villagers, the departmental officials selected party-aide farmers and their total land would not be more than 20 kanis by maximum. And the villagers also expressed their fear that, the officials might embezzle the money sanctioned for the project.
When enquired about, the SA denied to say anything in this matter and assured to look into the matter.
