AGARTALA, June 2 (TIWN): The black market business in LPG is once again at a rise and businessmen are enjoying the double price of cylinders in Tripura.
Those who buy cylinders from black market, are facing a tough time to keep their kitchen fires burning with the spurt in prices, said sources.
Until last week, when the LPG prices hadn't been hiked, a cylinder cost Rs 850- Rs 900 in the black market. But after the new price was declared by the companies, the cylinder rates shot up.
Tripura is already popular for black-marketing of cylinders is now again under the grip of black-marketers of the LPG cylinder.
However, it’s to mention here that price hike majorly hits state Tripura’s middle class families, due to their limited income becomes unable to manage their daily-budget. State Govt. employees due to limited pay-scale, faces more harder times when price hikes all over the country.
It’s worthy to mention here that day after the prices of petrol and diesel shot up, the oil marketing companies on Wednesday increased the rate of non-subsidised LPG cylinder by Rs. 21. The rate of aviation fuel (ATF) was also increased by a steep 9.2 per cent.
