AGARTALA, June 1 (TIWN): Work on Indo-Bangla Railway track will be started, once the inauguration is done.
However, a team of technical experts of IRCON, representatives of state government in Tripura and the Indian High Commission in Dhaka has visited the sites of laying the tracks in 2015 and it was said that to project to be completed within 2017.
It was also said that the 1,700 km distance between Agartala and Kolkata through chicken neck near Siliguri would be reduced to 350 km if passengers from here could move through Bangladesh.
However, with the coming of Modi Govt. Indo-Bangla relation has received a better shape already, which may boost the economy of Tripura soon.
Already Tripura’s passenger train has started and the state may be connected nationally and internationally in more easier way.
NFR GM H K Jaggi has arrived in state on Wednesday and held discussion on Express train and other ongoing projects.
Hopefully, NFR will focus on Indo-Bangla rail-project soon.
