KAMALPUR, June 1 (TIWN): The documental claim and ground reality remained far away from one another. And the plans and programs of the department failed to provide relief to the commoners from sufferings of scarcity of drinking water. The scenario remained the same in the divisions of DWS department in the entire Dhalai district.

In the Annual plan of the department for 2015-16 numbers of SBDTW were planned to be set up at different parts of the state. In this plan, the department set 115 SBDTWs for Salema Block and 128 SBDTWs for Durgachowmuhani Block to be set under Kamalpur Division of DWS. The division in its documents showed maximum of the works completed.

 But the ground reality remained that, the SBDTWs in maximum cases not became functioning till date. The contractors completed the constructions amidst much allegation of the locales. Then the officials made their routine visits and sanctioned the bills.

 But the commoners not got a single drop of water from those projects. Whenever asked, the authority put the blame on TSECL for not providing electricity connection.

When the matter got discussed with the TSECL local authority they made it clear that, the DWS authority never approached to them in this regard. And hence, without the initiative and proposal from the concerned department, they could not provide connectivity at their own.
