KUMARGHAR, May 11 (TIWN): Tripura Bamboo Mission has taken initiative for High Density Bamboo Plantation covering around 46 Hectors at Kumarghat R.D Block, North Tripura District.

TBM has given its best efforts to achieve their objective to improve the socio-economic conditions of forest dwellers based on the natural resources of Tripura in order to boost up the livelihood of the forest dependent communitiesTBM provides vocational training programme. Some of the trainees are making good use of it.

After the rubber cultivation here in Tripura, some of the success stories might have gain momentum in Bamboo plantation in the state of Tripura. The farmers across the state are now keeping eye on planting bamboos in spite of rubber cultivation.

A section of farmers of the state had already faced a major downfall in the rubber cultivation and are now keeping hope to live their livelihood by the plantation of bamboos, which has a tremendous demand rising not only in Agartala but also in the entire state.

However, only time will speak how much fruitful these camps will be, as the bamboo cultivation here is almsot in the vege of exinction.
