AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): Whereas Tripura is under the threat of cyclone and flood related disasters and common people are suffering after every storm, Disaster Management Dept. blasts the SDMs of state for not sending their DMP (Disaster Management Plan-16-17) within deadline.
It’s to be mentioned here that District Disastrous Management Authority(DDMA) held discussion meet at DM Office on Friday evening with all levels of Tripura high officials from Police Dept. to DMs and ask them to submit the plan for 2016-17, on the basis of which DDMP(District Disastrous Management Plan) will be updated through out the year.
But maximum departments were found apathetic for sending the plan and they are not at all bothered about the natural disasters in their subdivisions at all.
It was told the SDMs by the Disaster Management authority during the meeting that, “SDMs were requested vide this office letter No-F1 (5)DM/W/DMC/(REV) 2012/849-63 dated 09.03.2016 to send a report about what preparedness have been taken by them to face the cyclone and flood like situation, if any occurred in the sub-division. Action report in this respect has been received, from SDM Mohonpur only”.
