TELIAMURA, March 7 (TIWN) : In yet another incident 2 persons injured when a vehicle with huge number of cylinders turned upside down on Assam-Agartala National Highway at Teliamura.
Reportedly, the truck bearing, No. AS01W 7735 was carrying LPG cylinders from Bishalgarh to Telimura.
However, it was at Twi Sindrai area, near to Teliamura that the driver loosing control over the vehicle turned it on the ground.
Although no death has been reported, but the driver and the contractor have been narrowly escaped from death, according to the local people.
However, it’s to be mentioned here that not only overloaded trucks are violation of laws and federal regulations, it is unsafe to operate, and violation of laws during LPG cylinders carrying is just unacceptable.
As statistics show, year-after-year, overloaded trucks are one of the leading causes of truck-related accidents. The reason is that payloads that are overweight or unbalanced increase the likelihood a driver may lose control of the vehicle.
When a vehicle is overloaded, its emergency handling capability is reduced, which can result in an accident.
