KAMALPUR, Feb 18 (TIWN): Bhanu Sarkar of Kamalmchara under Kalamchoura police station got sent to five days’ police remand yesterday. The special Court sent the contraband dealer to police remand after the police demanded so. It got hoped that, police might unearth further details about the cannabis dealing racket and the associates from the sub-division.
The unrestrained contraband and psychotropic substances transportation through this sub-division has caught the hike the recently. For almost last one year police suddenly ceased to conduct raids against such things.
Moreover, although police succeeded to nab Dipak Ghosh, the kingpin of psychotropic substances dealing in the subdivision under NDPS Act, but it not curtailed the dealing of such things. Many youths freshly got involved in the trade. But police failed to trace about them.
Now, on Tuesday last, the police succeeded to nab one Bhanu Sarkar of Kalamchara under Kalamchoura police station from a passenger commander numbered TR-04-2185 at Erarpar.
Police also seized 15 kg of cannabis from him. Then police booked him in the case numbered 13/2016 under clauses I and III of 20 of NDPS Act. Police also got five days’ remand of Bhanu from the special Court yesterday.
Now, what police could unearth from him remains the matter to be seen.
