AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): For further investigation of the dual murder case of East Dukli, Court on Friday sent both the arrested accused to 5 days of police remand.
Reportedly, Tripura police on Thursday arrested both the accused and produced them before the court on Friday. However, for further investigation of the case, the court has sent both the accused for five days of police remand.
It is to be mentioned here that among the accused one is a resident of Bangladesh Prasenjit Pal (24) and Rupan Das (23) are the accused of the dual murder of mother and son.
Tripura police on Thursday visited the spot and investigated about the dual murder of mother (Gouri Chakranorty) and son (Debabrata Chakraborty). However, from the spot the police have recovered glass of wine and packets of snacks.
It is to be mentioned here that the incident took place on early morning of February 9 at East Dukli.
According to the reports, the body of Gouri Chakraborty (Mother) has been recovered from her residence and the body of her son (Debabrata Chakraborty) has been recovered from a pond which is 200 metre away from their residence.
Reportedly, the head of Debabrata Chakraborty recovered chopped from his body. It is suspected that both the family members were murdered over looting the commodities from their house.
However, on the day of incident police rushed to the spot and started with the investigation. However, Tripura police though the Tripura police have successfully arrested the two accused but investigation is going on to arrest the third culprit.
However, the accused have demonstrated about how they have murdered both the mother and son. Further investigation will continue with an aim to find out another absconding accused.
It has been mentioned that knife with which the accused has committed the crime is yet to be recovered.
