AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident a goods loaded truck knocked down the boundary wall of a local resident after it dashed into the wall due to reckless driving.
West Police personal said the truck hit the wall of local resident at Jaganath bari road identified as Rathindra Debbarma on Sunday late night, with such a strong impact that it entered the house after breaking down the boundary wall.
The truck bearing number TRO1L1768 has been seized by the cops but the driver fled from the spot.
An FIR was registered on Monday morning against the unidentified truck driver at the west police station. The case was registered after a complaint was lodged by the owner of the house, police said.
"The manner in which the truck dashed the boundary wall of the house shows that it was travelling at a very high speed. It is not yet clear from which direction the truck was coming. We are trying to arrest the driver," said a police officer.
It is to be mentioned here that the accident has lead to great loss for the owner of the house. Police is suspecting that this might be a case of drinking and driving. Reckless driving has led to this accident in the late night.
However, getting alarm the west police personnel along with the official of traffic department rushed to the spot and took a note of the accident zone. Later with the help of a crane the truck was lifted up from the spot and the vehicle was later detained by police.
Police further confirmed that there is no report of injuries to any one and police is further investigating the case.
