KALYANPUR, Feb 2 (TIWN) Entire Kalyanpur area has been gripped under gambling business. Police of “Golden Era” is in cold sleep. Police is doing nothing to prevent all these. Incidents of gambling are increasing in Mohorcherra, Kamal Nagar, Totabari, Bagan Bazaar, Eiyakrai, RS Para, Ruprai etc Tribal based area under Kalyanpur PS. Gambling business running well day & night all the week. Main part of gambling played twice a day in Shillong and rate is Rs.1=Rs.80. Peoples from every part of society like teachers, students, employees do participate in gambling to earn more.

Even house wives participate in gambling. Not only in Kalyanpur gambling business are running well and increasing all the Teliamura Sub-Division. Police , District Administration, Block office are playing a silent role to prevent gambling. All of them are in deep sleep. Through gambling all the innocent peoples are getting insolvent and therefore domestic violence against women are increasing rapidly day by day also. Man lost their hard earnest money through gambling at the end of the day and therefore all the family members of his becoming hopeless day by day. All the local people raising questing that why did any higher authority are not taking any strong steps to prevent entire gambling business?
