KAMALPUR, Feb 2 (TIWN): Adding a different fervour to the traditional celebration of her daughter’s birthday, a teacher planted trees and distributed books among the children. He also honoured the dance artist Shib sankar Choudhury on this occasion.
The observation was held at Dear Club area at Kamalpur. The teacher of that area Pintu Majumder planned to observe his daughter Merina Majumder’s 11th birthday. On this occasion, he executed different socio-environmental works. In this connection a short program was arranged in his house. The program was attended by the MLA Anjan Das, Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Subrata Bhattacharjee and many other dignitaries.
The dignitaries along with the birthday girl Merina and other locales planted 20 saplings of different trees like Mahogany, Neem etc. Then textbooks were distributed among 20 students of economically backward families. Then the dance artist Shibsankar Choudhury was also honoured.
This celebration set a different fervour of social entity to the family observation of birthdays.
