KAMALPUR, Dec 28 (TIWN): Crores of rupees got sanctioned but corruption and embezzlement have no bounds and it came out after the demolishing of works within a year or two after the completion. The same thing was noticed in the works of centrally sponsored PMGSY works in this sub-division.

Since its beginning, the centrally sponsored PMGSY scheme and its works came under the allegation here in the Dhalai district. The agencies like HSCL, Coal India etc. happily shifted the works to other local contractors after taking commission and securing their profit. Then those contractors also transferred the works to local and comparatively lower category contractors on the same basis of commission. As a result, the implementing contractor, who had to manage the quality of the work transferred to him. And even after several times’ publication of the matter the tradition continued as the State government mysteriously numbed up about it.

As a result, none of the roads constructed under PMGSY lasted for more than a year. Pot holes, ditches, side breaking, automatic demolishing of the black top carpeting remained the common fate of the roads. Further, none of the enthroned agencies got found on the sites to look over on the works. Hence, the contractors got happily busy in embezzling and degrading the quality.
