BELONIA, Dec 16 (TIWN):Tripura located in an advantageous position in respect of strategic, diplomatic and economic relations with Bangladesh is likely to become the gateway in tandem with implementation of the ‘Act East’ policy adopted by the Government of India.
The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Commerce & Industry Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman recently inaugurated the first Border Haat along Indo-Bangladesh international border at Srinagar, a bordering village in South Tripura.
Governor Tathagatha Roy in his maiden visit to Srinagar Border Haat had a deep imprint among the local people of Srinagar area and he is hopeful that the Centre intended to move for development of Bangladesh through Tripura.
He also assured that it is a matter of time to build the bridge over Feni river/Transit facility using Ashuganj Chittagong sea ports in Bangadesh.
Moreover he had noted many issues, while interacting with common peoples in Srinagar Border Haat and also keen to address those issues soon. Hon’able Governor also appreciates South District Administration for its overall development of Srinagar Broder Haat in respect of strategic, diplomatic and economic relations is concerned.
