AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): Labour Directorate of Tripura is going to inaugurate a website on December 15.

The website will be inaugurated by the Minister of Labour Sahid Choudhury at the office of Labour Department.

It is to be mentioned here that a website of the Labour Directorate and Online registration of the Construction workers of the Tripura Building and other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board under Labour Department is going to be inaugurated in the office of Labour Department.

Labour Organization was first set up in Tripura in year 1951 under one Labour Officer.

However, this has been upgraded to Labour Directorate in 1965 under the control of Chief Labour Officer.

The Labour Commissioner started functioning as Head of Department since 1978. Subsequently, in 1982 the Organization of Factories and Boilers was separated from the Labour Directorate.

Prevention, investigation and settlement of industrial disputes in the State, Fixation and revision of minimum rates of wages in schedule employments and other issues are being taken care by the Department.
