Agartala, Oct 3 (TIWN): A TSECL engineer, very close to ruling CPI(M) accused of sexual assault was not reinstated in the department , he rewarded by giving promotion. The lucky engineer is Santanu Das, who was accused of sexually assaulting his colleague – a female engineer several times. The accused had love affair and also promised her of marriage.The victim instead of getting justice was been cornered by Santanu and Co.
The accused engineer by virtue of his relation with ruling party high – ups CMD of TSECL was made his puppet. Unofficially he is runs the corporation and nobody dares to oppose him. According to report,the victim engineer was transferred from corporation office to make way for Santanu Das.It is alleged that even CMD is in favor of the accused engineer. Even departmental investigation was not initiated against the accused .To evade arrest of police he went underground without any leave permission. Whereas, TSECL instead of taking any action for his absence from duty without permission also gave full month salary.
A case of sexual assault was lodged on November 2014, against the engineer for alleged sexually assault on his colleague at West Agartala Women Police Station. The accused was identified as Shantanu Das, resident of Kumari Tilla.Police said that both Shantanu and the victim, a senior manager working at TSECL were having a love affair.
The victim in the case filed stated that during their affair, Shantanu allegedly developed physical relation with the victim promising her of marriage. When the victim asked for marriage, Shantanu did not accept her proposal. At this, the victim registered an FIR at the Women police Station.
