AGARTALA, September 20 (TIWN): On the auspicious occasion of the 25th Foundation Day of the Tripura State Rifles 2nd Bn on September 19, an exhibition of items made by the Jawans at the parade ground, a blood donation and eye donation camp was organized in the Battalion’s headquarter at RK Nagar, confirmed an official here on Sunday.
At the camp, altogether 141 TSR jawans has registered for eye donation and 130 TSR jawans has donated their blood. During the programme, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar was present as the chief guest of the programme. Besides, Deputy Speaker Pabitra Kar and Director General of Police K. Nagaraj and others were also present at the programme.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar inaugurated the programme in the Battalion’s headquarter at RK Nagar.
Addressing the programme, the state is militants free but their hideouts still exist in various interior parts of state. He further said that some rebels are still operating to break the space in the state. Therefore, Jawans must remain vigilant on the activities.
Besides, he also mentioned that along with keeping strict vigilant over the outlawed group, the Jawans should also come forward in extension of Education, Sports, Plantation, Health camp and many others to develop the state.
