UDAIPUR/ AMARPUR, September 12 (TIWN): Following the brutal murder of a young housewife at Amarpur, namely Rekha Datta Das, Amarpur Sub-divisional Court has sent the murderer husband Apu Das to 14 days JC.
The case was initially was filed at Udaipur’s R.K.Pur Women Police Station on Thursday, by the deceased father Nikunja Datta.
However, talking to TIWN, Udaipur SDPO Ratan Das said that as the incident actually took palce at Amarpur, so Udaipur police had handed over the case in Amarpur P S.
However, Apu Das has been produced before the court and sent to suffer 14 days JC.
The incident took place at Amarpur, on Thursday morning, when her husband Apu Das set fire on Rekha Dutta Das.
Hearing her loud screams, neighbours came to Apu Das’s house and anyhow saved her at that moment.
Then after she was taken to Amarpur Hospital, immediately doctors referred her to Gomati Dist. Hospital.
Her father Nikunja Dutta lodged FIR against Apu Das at 2 pm with R K Pur Women Police Station. However, police taking her statement arrested Apu Das immediately.
But at 5 pm yesterday Rekha took breadthed her last. According to the doctor 90 % of her body had been burnt.
It’s to be mentioned that before 3 years Nikunja Dutta’s daughter had been married to Apu Das, with a hefty amount of dowry.
But after few day’s of marriage Apu Das started to torture upon his wife for more dowries. Poor family of Rekha’s could not fulfill his demands.
As a result he kept torturing upon her continuously, and it was on Thursday morning at around 8 am that he set fire on her.
Ms. Rekha Dutta while fighting death gave her last statement to police, against her killer husband Apu Das.
