AGARTALA, June 8 (TIWN): Traffic Police, Tripura Police along with Municipal corporation task force jointly organized a eviction drive on the roads from Kaman Chowmuhani to Math Chowmuhani areaon Monday.
During the eviction drive it was noticed that the police personnel were asking the people to remove their vehicles including motor-bikes, car from the no-parking zone as the parking of vehicles at the no parking zone on the roadside causes inconvenience to smooth traffic movement, and more seriously to pedestrians. Widened portions of the roads get fully occupied for parking and create clogging on either side the road and as a result all the rickshaw pullers were asked not to park the rickshaws in any side of the road nor in front of a house, shop, office for loading and unloading of the passengers, which creates mismanagement in the traffic movement.
As a part of the eviction drive, the shopkeepers at the side of the roads were asked to remove unauthorized flex banners extended from the shed of the shop as it clogs the movement of the big vehicles on the road. Interestingly, police personnel himself were seen erupting the banner post from the roadside which were illegally placed at the side of the roads creating a traffic chaos on the roads.
This eviction drive is aimed to aware the people with the traffic rules and regulations which are mandatory to be maintained on the streets of Agartala to avoid traffic chaos.
It is to be mentioned that as the traffic department has identified the two most popular roads of the Agartala city which covers the route from Airport to the University which covers Natunnagar, capital complex, Haradhan Sangha, Colonel Choumuhani, Nagerjala, AD Nagar, ONGC, Hapania, Amtali to Tripura University and the other road is from Battala to Asram Chowmuhani which are mostly crowded with vehicles and with this drive the traffic department aims at providing free running of vehicles on the roads .
