UDAIPUR, June5 (TIWN): In a tragic incident, a 50 years old man received a pathetic death on the spot on Friday afternoon when a big lorry ran over him at Maharani Hati colony near brick manufacturing field under Udaipur sub-division.

The deceased is identified as Govinda Mallik, resident of Bihar and he was also working in the same brick manufacturing field for last 20years.  

Reportedly, the incident took place when he was walking towards the brick manufacturing field and was dashed by the lorry near the brick field from the back side.  The eye-witness say that while taking back gear the vehicle hit the victim and left him died on the spot when he came under the big tyre of the vehicle.

Getting alarm, the personnel of Radhakishorepur police station and Maharani Outpost reached at the spot and detained the vehicle bearing number TR03C1730 from the spot. However police failed to nab the driver as he is yet absconding.

Police has sent the body in the morgue for postmortem in Gomati district hospital.

Talking to the family members of the deceased, his son demanded compensation for the accidental death of his father.

However, police is further investigating the case.
