Churaibari, May 30 (TIWN): Churaibari Check post Police seized a huge amount of contraband articles- phensedyl, illicit foreign liquor worth Rs 10 lakh from Kadamtala North Tripura on Friday afternoon.

On the basis of information SDPO Rajdeep  Deb caught Tata Magic bearing AS10C 2840 and seized the contraband goods.

The Tata magic was coming from Bazaricharra of Assam. A total of 1590 bottles of Codeine Phosphate laced Phensedyl syrup were recovered, since indiscriminate availability and abuse of liquor is considered to be a major triggering factor for law and order problem in this Tripura Assam Border area. Police arrested Driver Harun Sutradhar(36) and Amrit Paul(34) and now they are in Churai Bari Police station.Both were from Bazarichara of Assam.
