KAMALPUR, May 24, (TIWN): Acute crisis of drinking water hit the remote hamlets of subdivision. Different areas under Jamthum, Shimbukchak, Panboa, Apareshkar VCs and other areas got under the acute hit of drinking water crisis. Areas under the Mechuria, Dabbari, Bilaschara panchayats also came under such grip.
Like previous years, this year DWS department documentally announced and implemented different projects for providing drinking water to the remote areas. Lakhs of crores of rupees got expensed to create and renovate drinking water sources. Still the crisis hit different areas. The people of Chinisinghpara, Gokulnagar areas under Mechuria panchayat came under the grip of drinking water crisis. The departmental water sources like mark-II, mini deep tube wells and pipelines collapsed completely. As a result, the inhabitants are quenching their thirsts from ditches and ponds. The DWS department remained busy only in providing assurance and making documental plans.
