AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): North East MGNREGA Employee’s Association is going to organize their state level convention at Rabindra Bhavan on May 24.
Interacting with the media persons at Agartala Press Club here on Saturday General Secretary of North East MGNREGA Employee’s Association Kukil Baruah said that the North East states have formed the association for the people in that region of the country, with the aim to regularise their jobs.
Kukil Baruah further said that some of the common themes affecting the workers were related to job security, threat, pending payments by the state and vulnerability of losing job through the state machinery, even though they work and have been appointed under the Central government, he mentioned.
The over-all motive for the formation of North East MGNREGA Employee’s Association is to formulate a pan-India movement for assuring job regularisation of MNREGA workers across the country, Baruah added.
Vice President of North East MGNREGA Employee’s Association Robert Lalnuntluanga and others were present.
